Our Founders

The foundation was co-founded by brothers Francisco and Dario Garzon with a passion for helping others, especially in their home country of Colombia. By combining Francisco’s administrative skills and business acumen; while leveraging Dario’s interest, connections, and experience in the health industry as a maxillofacial surgeon, Drawing Alegria was able to grow to what it is today.

The Garzon brothers come from a region in Colombia where many children live with difficult health, nutrition and housing conditions. As a result of this, in 2014 they decided that they would do everything they could to help these communities live healthier and happier lives. Since then, Drawing Alegria has hosted 18 surgical journeys, served 720 total patients; and funded over 1000 successful surgical

procedures.
